The Taste 1973 restaurant, located within the Villa Cortés Hotel in Playa de las Américas, has officially launched its completely refurbished main dining room. This newly updated space was introduced during the ‘GET TOGETHER · Todos somos EUROPE’ event, organized by the Gassmann family, owners of Europe Hotels International, to honor the essential role of suppliers, producers, and collaborators in the hotel group’s success.
The renovation was guided by customer feedback, aiming to enhance comfort and dining experience. The redesign aligns the dining area’s architecture with the technical sophistication of the menu while preserving the unique character that has made it a leading destination for fine dining in the Canary Islands.
The culinary offerings remain under the creative leadership of Chef Diego Schattenhofer, known for his signature cuisine that emphasizes local ingredients and the historical heritage of southern Tenerife. This culinary identity earned the restaurant a Michelin Star in 2023 and a Sol Repsol, highlighting its esteemed reputation.
The dining service and wine selection are managed by sommeliers and maîtres Aníbal Morales and Alberto Somoza, who ensure perfect pairings with the culinary journey. During the launch, Arianna Gassmann, the group’s COO and CEO, highlighted that the evolution of a family business with over fifty years of history is only possible through strong partnerships with the industrial and primary sectors that supply their kitchens daily.
