The Santa Cruz City Council has finalized the renovation project for the C-14 plot in Añaza, marking the first initiative under the Scheduled Residential Rehabilitation Environments programs. Funded by Next Generation funds, the project has improved energy efficiency, accessibility, and the overall condition of the 92 homes.
Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez, alongside Housing Councilor Belén Mesa and Southwest District Councilor Javier Rivero, inspected the completed work, which involved an investment of 2.1 million euros.
Bermúdez emphasized that this is not merely a facade renovation but a comprehensive intervention that directly enhances the quality of life for the residents. He also announced plans to use the budget surplus from the contractor’s bid to implement additional improvements in the area.
Future enhancements include the installation of a new exterior elevator for better access to the plaza from the Garajonay and Timanfaya buildings, a ramp from the Taburiente and Cañadas buildings, more photovoltaic panels in common areas, protective grilles under windows, and replacement of exterior lamps.
