Canary Islands Appliance Renewal Plan Launches Second Phase
The Canary Islands' Appliance Renewal Plan is set to launch its second phase on October 1, distributing the remaining funds of 1.6 million euros in vouchers. This initiative, supported by the Canary Islands Government and managed by Femete and Femepa, aims to promote energy efficiency and stimulate local commerce.
The first phase of the Canary Islands’ Appliance Renewal Plan concluded with 24,012 registrations and 2,751 approved vouchers, totaling 449,770 euros. An additional 1,736 vouchers are pending, representing 436,980 euros. The second phase will distribute the remaining funds, with 800,000 euros allocated to each province.
The plan, supported by the Canary Islands Government and managed by Femete and Femepa, has been well-received by the commercial sector, with 213 participating establishments. Nearly 1,000 purchases were made using vouchers during the first phase.
Officials emphasize the plan’s role in reducing household energy bills, supporting local commerce, and contributing to the region’s energy transition.
