Major Cannabis Operation Uncovered in Tacoronte
Authorities in Tacoronte have dismantled a large-scale cannabis cultivation operation, leading to the arrest of two individuals.
In a significant crackdown on illegal drug activities, law enforcement in Tacoronte has arrested two men, aged 25 and 48, for their involvement in a substantial cannabis cultivation operation. This action was part of the ‘Operation Garden Sun’ initiative led by the Guardia Civil.
The investigation began when authorities received information about a potential site for drug production. After conducting discreet surveillance and gathering evidence, they confirmed the presence of a cannabis plantation within a residential property.
On September 10th, with judicial approval, officers conducted a search of the premises. They discovered various areas designed for both indoor and outdoor cannabis cultivation, equipped for different stages of plant growth and processing.
The operation resulted in the seizure of 67 vacuum-sealed bags containing cannabis buds, weighing approximately eight kilograms, along with 142 plants at various growth stages, and 113 seedlings and cuttings. Additional items confiscated included cannabis resin, cash, a scale, notebooks with cultivation records, and an air pistol.
The Guardia Civil’s investigation team, along with the Canary Islands’ Group of Reserve and Security No. 8, canine units, and local security patrols, were involved in this operation. The suspects and evidence have been handed over to the judicial authorities.
