Four young Canarians are expanding their horizons through international education, with the aim of bringing their skills back to the islands. Supported by Fundación Mapfre Canarias, they are pursuing studies in fields like scientific research, biomedical robotics, and business leadership. The foundation has awarded 1,446 scholarships over four decades, fostering the development of local talent.

Irene Chen Cordero León will study advanced control systems in the Netherlands, aiming to contribute to the Canary Islands’ scientific community. Iker Javier Pérez Omar heads to Boston to explore biomedical robotics, driven by the desire to use technology for societal benefit. Eduardo García Santana combines aerospace engineering with management studies to bridge innovation and practical application.
