Santa Catalina Park Revamp Set to Begin in Santa Cruz
The Santa Cruz city council has confirmed the redevelopment of Santa Catalina Park in La Gallega, with the contract awarded to Probisa Vías y Obras SLU for a total of 3.48 million euros. This project, supported by over 1.2 million euros from the Cabildo, is set to unfold over two years, transforming nearly 14,000 square meters into a leading accessible play area in the Canary Islands.
The redevelopment will introduce accessible pathways, sensory zones, and upgraded facilities, including self-cleaning toilets and better lighting. The initiative emphasizes environmental sustainability by preserving existing greenery and expanding garden spaces, which could enhance the area’s appeal to families and investors.
Driven by community demand, the project reflects proposals from the 2023 participatory budget focused on upgrading recreational facilities. With construction expected to start in the last quarter of this year, the improved amenities could boost interest in nearby real estate, potentially raising property values as local infrastructure enhances.
As the park undergoes its transformation, the surrounding neighborhood might attract more property interest, especially from families looking for accessible leisure spaces. Those interested in the Santa Cruz market should keep an eye on these changes, as enhanced infrastructure often leads to increased demand and higher property prices.
