A newly launched bus service now connects the Costa del Sol and Gibraltar to Spain’s high-speed rail network, allowing passengers to travel seamlessly to major cities such as Madrid and Barcelona. This collaboration between Renfe and Avanza expands the Tren+Bus service, offering combined tickets for bus and train journeys from Algeciras, Gibraltar, and La Linea to Malaga, and onward by train to northeastern Spain.
The service aims to simplify travel for those in areas without direct rail access, with Malaga Maria Zambrano serving as a central hub for high-speed train departures. The new routes include daily services linking Gibraltar with Barcelona, taking approximately 10 hours and 14 minutes.
